book tag

by queengilda on July 3, 2008

i don’t usually do tagging but oh well :) i am in the middle of reading this pretty cool book so i thought i might as well share it!! i got tagged by persephone writes, and here’s what this little game is about:

  1. pick up nearest book
  2. open to page 123
  3. find the 5th sentence
  4. post the next 3 sentences
  5. tag 5 people, and acknowledge who tagged you.

the book i’m reading is called wacky chicks by the very very fabulous simon doonan. and if you don’t know who simon doonan is, you need to smack your own bottom. he is barneys’ creative director and is one of the best examples of personal style out there.

the only bit of hipness in their hometown, we gather from their chitchat, was a boutique called bits and pieces where the flashily attired yvonne bought all her trendy traveling clothes. starved of grooviness, they have come to london in search of the “in set,” the mythical people who, yvonne claims, sleep “in six-foot-circular beds with black satin sheets” and whose every move is documented in minitrend, yvonne’s favorite magazine. their quest provides much hilarity, but most of the chuckles in the movie are derived from the girls’ catastrophic attempts to secure regular employment.

i got a little annoyed because these 3 sentences did not portray the best things about the book. but check out this slogan written on its cover:

wacky chicks: life lessons from fearlessly inappropriate and fabulously eccentric women

yes!! i love it!

i would like to tag
juliette maxwell
lesley denford
lady julianne le fay

My nearest book s 50 pages long!! Is it ok if I do this when I go back to Mexico??

About my friend, I don’t know when or if he’s going, I haven’t talked to him at all! Different time zines and holidays, you know.

Oooh, sounds fun! I don’t have a book with me now, but I’ll do it tonight. I’m always in the middle of a bunch of books, so the hard task will be choosing which one…

Thanks for tagging me, honey! That was a fun post to do.

Also, definitely check on Atonement. While I’m not sure it’s completely redeemed itself, I find it so much more superior to the film.

And definitely check out Geisha! It’s so fantastic. I love it lots.
